Embedded Software Engineer 

Ainstein’s Engineering team is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer. In this role you will develop and test embedded software and systems for new radar sensors and systems in consumer and commercial products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, Code, Test, and Debug embedded software (C/C++/Python) for radar sensors and product development
  • Embedded system development for new radar and camera based products
  • Define, analyze, and review software/system requirements for custom development
  • Test and validation for new product development
  • Occasional travel for field test and integration as necessary

Qualifications:

Lead Radar Engineer 

Ainstein’s Engineering team is looking for a Lead Radar Engineer. This position will provide technical leadership for a radar development project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the radar system requirements definition, architecture design, key hardware and software requirements and performance, product design and development, validation, and production planning. The successful candidate will work with hardware, software, system, and test engineers to ensure design requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • This position requires advanced knowledge in radar systems and principles of operation, and extended experience in radar system design and development, preferable for automotive applications.
  • 10 years of experience in a relevant industry and a graduate degree in engineering or science are required.
  • Master degree or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, or physics
  • The following experiences are preferred: radar system design, waveform design, signal processing, electronics, calibration, antenna design, target tracking and classification.
  • The following skills are preferred: Matlab (or equivalent), C/C++/Python, FPGA, embedded software, requirements management tool, architecture design tool, project management tool, MS office. The role may require travel to Asia and other locations to work with development team and customers.

Radar Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Systems Engineer/Analyst to support our automotive radar product development. This person will work with radar product lead to define application and system requirements, develop radar performance analysis, design test and verification requirements; He/she will also work with hardware/software engineers to ensure product design meets the system requirements; He/she will work with test team to ensure all system requirements are met. This person will perform design analysis, develop signal processing algorithms, analyze test data, and prepare test and verification report.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform requirement analysis and flowdown; Define verifications test plan
  • Develop systems performance analysis and prediction
  • Work with systems team to define sensor architecture, and radar signal processing algorithms
  • Work with HW/SW team to ensure subsystems meet their specifications
  • Develop tools for test data analysis
  • Work with product/test teams to identify problems and resolve issues arising during development and test phase
  • Prepare documentation for system work product

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant engineering development environment
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience using Matlab or similar tools for data analysis and algorithms development
  • Experience with automotive radar systems or other radar systems highly preferred
  • Familiar with requirements development and management

Test Engineer

Ainstein Boston Office is looking for a Test Engineer to design and develop test and validation equipment for our automotive radar products. This person will work with product designers to identify testing needs, design tests to validate our products, develop test methods and the equipment needed to execute them, and work closely with technicians and outside providers to execute tests and analyze data for the team.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Work with systems/product engineer to define test requirements
  • Design test methods and equipment
  • Specify and source test instrumentation
  • Lead test team to set up and run tests
  • Work with hardware/software engineering team to improve test process
  • Prepare test documents, including test procedure, tools, and reports
  • Work with test/product team to identify root-cause of failures and drive resolution

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with test engineering with proficiency in: test development, fixture design, and data analysis
  • BS or MS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience with designing fixtures and tools in Solidworks or similar

FULL-TIME Firmware Engineer in Lawrence, KS

Duties includes: 

1) Integrate and validate new product designs in the area of FPGA and embedded system; 

2) Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment. General knowledge in the field of analog and digital circuit, computer structure, communication protocol, radar technology; and specific skills in digital signal processing, programming language coding and embedded system design; 

3) Interface with hardware design and development; Co-operate with hardware engineer for the interface design between FPGA/embedded system, other peripheral device and power module.

4) Research and study in FPGA/embedded system industry: Communicate with senior embedded engineer in terms of product developing and optimization. Attend forum in relevant area to obtain new technology achievement and trend;

5) Customer Correspondence: Analyze and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, extract information. Communicate with customer for product introduction, user interface (UI) developing, and trouble-shooting.

FULL-TIME Principal Antenna Design Engineer in Tustin, California area.

Job Description:
  1. Lead millimeter wave antenna design activities, processes, and test plans;
  2. Design antennas for multiple radar products operating in various frequency bands;
  3. Coordinate with customers to design and develop advanced antenna solutions suitable for new radar products;
  4. Design, debug, and test Radio Frequency (RF) and Analog Circuits (power amplifier, low-noise amplifier and filter design);
  5. Prepare product layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics;
  6. Utilize antenna simulation tools and test equipment to formulate and test antenna design;
  7. Antenna prototyping and validation through relevant measurements;
  8. Lead small projects or sub-projects as part of a greater project;
  9. Source and analyze appropriate components to meet electrical engineering design requirements;
  10. Collaborate with Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, and Manufacturing to ensure robust designs and appropriate testability;
  11. Analyze and document test data and to determine if the proposed design meets functional and performance specifications.
Minimum Requirements

Position requires Doctorate (PhD) degree with at least 3 years experiences in Communication /Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Deep understanding in the following areas:

Electromagnetic theory and application

Antenna and wave propagation theory and application

Microwave/RF design theory and Applications

Transmission line theory, matching circuits, active and passive RF circuit design

Various RF transceiver structure in automotive radar applications

Extensive experience with antenna array and RF circuit design and implementation in various frequency bands from 2.4GHz up to 77 GHz.

Design and optimization of antenna array beamwidth, radiation pattern shape, sidelobe level, and polarization.

Experience with design of millimeter-wave antenna array, RF modules, different type of transmission line, microwave circuits and radar subsystems at W-band.

Experience with RF calibration and using anechoic chamber and RF test equipment to characterize RF circuits, antenna array, and radar module performance.

Proven or trackable research projects and publications shows the ability to design millimeter wave antenna and RF circuits 

Participate in technical discussion with US and China team for technology developments, product design to fabrication, and technology roadmaps 

Tools and Skills:

Full wave EM simulation experience using HFSS

RF simulations with ADS, Microwave Office

Measurements using spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer, and standard Lab equipment
