Embedded Systems Engineer – Autonomous Perception

Ainstein’s Engineering team is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer. In this role you will develop and test embedded software and systems for new radar sensors and new system development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, Develop, Code, Test, and Debug embedded software (C/C++) for radar sensors and control systems
  • Embedded system development for new radar based products
  • Define, analyze, and review software/system requirements for custom development
  • Test and validation for new product development
  • Occasional travel for field test and integration as necessary

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in C / C++ for embedded applications
  • Embedded systems development and test experience
  • Basic understanding of radar sensors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Minimum 3 years working experience
  • BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent; MS or PhD is a major plus
  • US citizen or permanent resident only

Desired Experience/Skills

  • Experience with one or more of the following: Git, Linux / Embedded Linux, Linux Kernel, FPGA / VHDL / Verilog / Vivado, Code Composer, ROS

Antenna Design Engineer – Autonomous Perception Radar 

Ainstein is seeking an RF/Antenna Design Engineer to design and develop antenna solutions for radar sensors across all Ainstein product lines. The position reports to Director of Engineering. Ideal candidate will have a solid RF and Antenna design background and experience designing and building circuits and antennas across different frequency bands 24 GHz, 60 GHz and 76-81 GHz.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all mmWave antenna design activities, processes, and test plans
  • Design antennas for multiple radar products operating in various frequency bands
  • Work with customers to design and develop advanced antenna solutions suitable for new radar products
  • Design, debug, and test Radio Frequency (RF) and Analog Circuits (power amplifier, low-noise amplifier and filter design)
  • Prepare product layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics
  • Utilize antenna simulation tools and test equipment to formulate and test antenna design
  • Antenna prototyping and validation through relevant measurements
  • Lead small projects or sub projects as part of a greater project
  • Source and analyze appropriate components to meet electrical engineering design requirements
  • Collaborate with Hardware Engineers, Software Engineers, and Manufacturing to ensure robust designs and appropriate testability
  • Analyze and document test data and to determine if the proposed design meets functional and performance specifications


Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Physics specializing in RF or Electromagnetics, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years working experience in industry
  • Familiarity with the performance characteristics of passive and active RF components including amplifiers, oscillators, attenuators, mixers and filters
  • Proficient with RF/EM/antenna simulation platform such as XFDTD, HFSS, CST, ADS or similar
  • Familiar with common RF test equipment (such as: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, protocol and signaling testers)
  • Antenna design experience in radar, or wireless consumer products
  • Self-starter and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

FULL-TIME Firmware Engineer 

Responsibilities:

1) Integrate and validate new product designs in the area of FPGA and embedded system

2) Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment. General knowledge in the field of analog and digital circuit, computer structure, communication protocol, radar technology; and specific skills in digital signal processing, programming language coding and embedded system design

3) Interface with hardware design and development; Co-operate with hardware engineer for the interface design between FPGA/embedded system, other peripheral device and power module

4) Research and study in FPGA/embedded system industry: Communicate with senior embedded engineer in terms of product developing and optimization. Attend forum in relevant area to obtain new technology achievement and trend

5) Customer Correspondence: Analyze and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, extract information. Communicate with customer for product introduction, user interface (UI) developing, and trouble-shooting

6) Document preparation: Write and record development log during firmware and software development; Summarize technical documents for project that has involved; Prepare use-end instruction and manual for end user

7) Technical support for business team: Provide technical support to business team in terms of technical information of product; Attend meeting as technical representative with partner or customer


Qualifications:

  • Requires Master’s degree in electrical engineering or computer science
  • At least one year of experience in embedded devices and systems 
  • Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
