Ainstein announced some big news today—the launch of a new line of IoT radar products, WAYV. Including WAYV Air, WAYV and WAYV Pro, this new family of radar modules are specifically designed for use in static, fixed mounted applications such as:

  • Traffic management
  • Surveillance and security
  • Space utilization
  • Building automation

WAYV Air

WAYV Air is based on 60GHz radar sensing technology and features a compact form factor,  low cost and power consumption. It’s the ideal sensor for detecting and tracking people in both indoor and outdoor environments. This sensor will help to enable smart building related applications such as building automation, space utilization, and safety and security.

WAYV Air is especially useful in an emergency situation. For example, if a fire occurs in a hotel environment, WAYV Air can detect which rooms are still occupied and direct emergency services to evacuate those specific rooms, facilitating rescue while saving precious time and resources.

In a senior living environment, WAYV Air would be able to detect if a person has slipped and fallen in the shower and would be triggered to alert emergency services. This is especially important because WAYV Air does not record video or use facial recognition software, meaning we’re able to track people and movements and collect valuable data—without violating privacy.

WAYV and WAYV Pro

WAYV and WAYV Pro are mid- and long-range radar sensors with built-in high performance radar processors and proprietary advanced radar processing algorithms that can reliably detect and track vehicles and pedestrians in challenging light and weather conditions. WAYV and WAYV Pro are perfect candidates for surveillance, intelligent traffic management, and other smart city related applications.

The sensors establish a view of activity and have superior range, resolution, and field-of-view. Unlike existing sensors that use ultrasonic or other technologies, installers may deploy WAYV sensors behind the ceiling, improving aesthetics and reducing privacy concerns. One new WAYV sensor can provide more information reliably and cover a wider area than several ultrasonic sensors.

We are excited to put the new WAYV Air module to the test at this year’s CES, January 7–10, where we will be showcasing its capabilities. To arrange a demo with Ainstein, please contact hi@ainstein.ai.
