The LR-D1 radalt, released in 2022, has found great applications in medium-range altitude detections, and as the market continues to grow and change, its requirement of compatibility with ArduPilot for integration with COTS autopilots.
In cooperation with an ArduPilot developer, the LR-D1 will be integrated into the main branch of the ArduPilot repository. This new feature will allow Ainstein’s Radar Altimeter to be plug-and-play friendly via serial with CubePilot, Holybro, CUAV, and others.
Along with other exciting developments and upgrades are the improvements in the reporting of out-of-range measurements detected by the RadAlt. The integration of this and other warning codes allows the data collection and reading with the LR-D1 to be faster and easier for the users, and with better precision during VTOL maneuvers.
