U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Reaper at FIDAE drew massive interest from regional defense delegations. The focus wasn’t just on the airframe, but on persistent surveillance in complex terrain. There is a surging demand for sensors that can penetrate the coastal “camanchaca” (thick fog) and the dust of the Atacama Desert. Our discussions with Aerogenix highlighted that while optical sensors often fail in these conditions, Ainstein’s radar solutions provide all-weather situational awareness that makes persistent UAV missions viable in this region.
3. BVLOS: From Theory to Regulatory Reality
FIDAE 2026 served as a strategic meeting point for civil aviation authorities and drone manufacturers. With the Latin American drone market projected to grow at over 10% CAGR through 2033, the focus has shifted to BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) certification.
